EXTENSION
Compulsory for all Years 7 - 9 students
MATHS
TALENT QUEST
The MATHS TALENT QUEST (MTQ) Project is a compulsory Semester One Work
Requirement and Assessment Task for all Years 7 – 9 students at
PHSC. All Maths students in Years 7 – 9 will be working on their
individual project from early in Term 1, supervised by their Maths teacher.
The best school entries are submitted for judging at the State Level
later in the year.
ENRICHMENT
By invitation and/or for interested students
MATHS
CHALLENGE
Able Maths students from Years 7 to 10 – students who gained a
distinction or higher in the Australian Maths Competition last year,
or those who simply enjoy problem solving activities – are encouraged
to enter this year’s MATHS CHALLENGE, an Australia-wide extension
activity run by the Australian Mathematics Trust. The activity is run
over 3 weeks in Term 2, but entries close on Friday 23rd February.
AUSTRALIAN MATHS COMPETITION
All Maths students from Years 7 – 12 are invited to enter this
National Competition, which is held on Wednesday 27th July. Entries
close on 27th April.
STATEWIDE MATHS GAMES DAYS
Maths Games Days are held during Term 3. PHSC teams of 4 students compete
against teams from other schools at a central venue. Maths Games Days
are held for each year level. Further details will be given closer to
the time.

The correct money should
be enclosed in one of the payment envelopes provided at the General
Office. All of the required information needs to be accurately filled
in on the envelope before it is handed to Office Staff.
